I must apologize for something I posted earlier...

I stated that I was no longer proud to be an American because of the Presidential choice but I have to re-state that and apologize...I tend to write before I really think sometimes and that is one of my great weaknesses. I am very proud of our country and those who fight for our freedom. We live in an awesome country. I am VERY disappointed that Barak Obama will be our President and that the American people voted him in...to quote Star Wars "So this is how (America instead of Democracy) dies ...with THUNDEROUS applause?" by Senator Amedala....

What is my point here..well , today I attended the La Center Middle School's Veteran's Day concert and presentation. It struck me hard that I want be Patriotic and support those who fight to keep this country free! Over 2 million people have lost their lives fighting for this very cause that is our great country! Millions more have served(and lived) to defend it in the last 200 plus years! That is such a blessing to us as American citizens! We wouldn't have such a great place to live if it wasn't for such sacrifice. During the presentation The 8th grade History teacher told a story about how in WWII soldiers were gathered and asked who would volunteer to parachute into enemy territory for a special mission. They were told that at least 90% of them would likely die (not good odds), so men without families and those that were orphans were asked for the job. There were enough volunteers that some had to be turned away! I just LOST it as tears ran down my face. These men knew for certain they would die and they went willingly!

I would be a GIANT LOSER if I said I was not proud to be an American with all the sacrifice that has been given on each one of our behalf!

I am proud to be an American !
