What kind of mom is this? ...or dad for that matter??

Tonight Leavi had a band concert and Jaydn went to a high school ,soccer game with his friend, Mathew...I took off with Leavi and Robert was going to meet us there later. He showed up at the school without Kyzen and Kole. I said"where are the boys?"(It is important to know I didn't ask until he had been there for about 15 minutes, really observant huh?) He said" I thought you brought them?" "NO!" "Well, I didn't even see them at home?" Panic stricken I rushed outside to call home and see if they were alive??? Kole answered the phone and he didn't even know that no one was home??? He had been listening to a book on CD in his room with Kyzen. Well, I felt stupid...we finished the concert and I rushed home after strict instructions for Kole to lock the doors and stay in my room, watching a movie. They were fine when I got home but I must be losing it...ya think??? I tell you the older THEY get the more absent minded I get! For a ten year old I am proud of Kole for not panicking and being a good big brother, good thing we live so far out here and have awesome neighbors that watch our house like hawks!

This is classic. These are the kind of moments you seem to always remember right before you fall into deep sleep. Then you wake up freaked out and have to remind yourself that everyone is home safe and sound. I often find myself waking up in this anxious state remembering things like fearing I wouldn't be able to paddle back in to shore surfing, or being stuck in the snow beyond help and just barely making it, or falling out of a tree.
Anyone know what I'm talking about?

I read this before crawling off to bed last night with my migraine... ugh... and it totally cracked me up!! I have fears that I'm going to leave someone behind all the time... I know it is bound to happen eventually, almost every parent I know has a story. Now you have yours... LOL I love that they had no idea that everyone was gone, that's the greatest!!

Way to go Kole! Thanks for not freaking out on your parents! And on their behalf, not that big of a deal right? You didn't have to go to the concert after all!
