Juicing...the wave of the future!

A few months ago I embarked on the new lifestyle of juicing(fruits and veggies) I didn't change too much of what we were eating but added the new juice a few times a week. I wish we could do it everyday but , as you all know, groceries are on the rise....Bummer. We don't do the fruit juice( which is fabulous) very often any more because it is way too costly right now and too much sugar in the morning does not make Danelle a thin person!
So...The top picture is the bowl of veggies:3 carrots, 1/2 stalk celery, 12 Roma's(I would use vine ripe tomatoes but they are still $3 per pound YIKES!), 2 yellow squash, 2 zucchini, 2 cucumbers, sliver onion, 1 clove garlic,1 red pepper and 1 green pepper and a dash of salt to taste! I love it and my mouth waters when I think about it but the kids...well, they just get it down with puckered lips and scrunched up faces ( Kyzen usually sheds a few tears , as well).
I put the pulp in the chicken pen most times but Stacy, my sister-in-law, told me how she makes veggies patties with it so I gave it a whirl! Delicious!!!! Add to the pulp: 3 eggs, 1 cup bread crumbs, oregano, thyme, salt, pepper and some garlic. YUMMO! I baked them on a cookie sheet for 2 hours on 250 degrees and then either store until you can use(in the fridge) or fry them up in a tad bit of olive oil and top with whatever you like or eat plain. I like some sour cream and diced tomatoes and a slice of cheese, personally!
To add to our health Robert and I and Kole are taking cod liver oil and fish oil multi vitamins. I feel like it is making a difference, combined with the full chiropractic adjustment I got on Wednesday. I slept better than I have in quite a while and in the morning, check it out, I bent over to tie my shoes with out screaming!!! YAY!

We started juicing too. But stopped this winter because of expense. I think it is just worth it to keep up the veggie juice. I just crave it. I have more energy and get sick less. Maybe I could get my kids to drink it too!

wow, great blog! Fun to hear what you're up to and be inspired. I really love juicing! I try to juice regularly depending on what we have in the fridge, but sometimes it's hard with a new baby and all. I hope to grow lots and lots of vegetables in the summer to juice!
