Today Jaydn and Kole had their Basketball games. Jaydn's team had not won a game yet this season and they were getting anxious. He plays with all fifth graders except he and one other boy who are sixth graders...and most of the other kids have not played ball before. Today they stepped up their game and brought home a win!!! Jaydn scored 8 of their 25 points! He was playing some really heavy defense and shut down the other teams drive almost every time. Way to go Jaydn! Kole's team won their game as well, I should say they literally killed the other team, poor boys only got one basket in the whole game, not for lack of trying. Kole put in two baskets of the 40 points scored, every teammate got at least one basket this game, they really showed good team work.
Leavi went to a friends house today where they practiced for their quartet ensemble. They are playing Hungarian Rhapsody by Brahms. It is quite difficult, the timing is off for 2 of the girls so they have to remember to come in on the off beat. It slows down and speeds up a lot and is 8 pages long. Leavi has her part memorized now as do the other girls, it is now a matter of fine tuning for them. The performance will be March 1st. I will try to get a recording of them together, they also love to play Carol of The Bells and a couple others so maybe we will get an "album" of sorts.
Robert and I settled on plans for our chicken coop and beehives today and now that that is done we can proceed with the construction. Come summer we should be beekeepers and egg handlers! Our neighbor has tons of fruit trees so we are setting the hives close to his property so he can reap the benefits of our natural pollinators and we can get some top quality honey. We are going to involve the children and have them in charge of extracting the honey and bottling it. Maybe they can sell the extra and earn some college money?

Awesome!! Congrats to Jaydn and Kole! I bet they both were pretty happy. And I'll be looking forward to hearing this Hungarian Rhapsody too... I played it as a duet on the piano back in the day :o)
Mmm honey and eggs... don't pay attention the the prowlers in your yard this summer :o)
WOW what a busy family! Gee Danelle I think you need about 10 more kids to keep you really busy. (LOL)I can't wait to have time to live life again. After I am done with school (sigh) I may have a life. CHOICES, CHOICES, CHOICES!!!
Very cool to hear about the chickens and even cooler to hear about bees. Friends hubs is an avid bee keeper and has some great resources for keeping as well as purchasing equipment. He is a very frugal person and very knowledgable. If you have any ? I would be happy to pass them on when needed.
Congrats on your really cool blog!!! Who knew I was really a secret voi'ure?
Did you know Devin has kept bees? He got a hive for his twelfth birthday. His dad is an expert; he's the guy people call if they find a swarm in Orem, so if you have any questions, let him or Devin know! Good luck.
