We sold the jetta! Then it came back:(

Robert posted our Jetta yesterday and within 2 hours an 18 year old kid bought it for $800! I was so excited I could hardly stand it. After our mushroom adventure Robert noticed like 5 messages on his phone and then the kid called him again when we were finally in range again. He was very irritated that the car needed some work, which Robert told him about before selling the car! The kid said his mechanic said the fuel line running through the car was dangerous and would blow up! Diesel does not explode what a GOMER! Anyhow , the kid was very irate and was threatening to call the police to get his money back. I have to state first of all...the State of Washington does NOT have a buyer's remorse law, at all. We were well within our rights to refuse this kid! Once you buy a used car and sign a paper that states you are buying it " AS IS" you have no rights to reclaim your money and return the vehicle. That being said, I felt like we needed to let the kid return the car. 1...I didn't want a creepy dude stalking us or doing something bad to our house/children/cars...2...it just didn't feel right to make this kid suffer after he had obviously made a rash decision and needed to be shown some mercy on the matter. I wish someone would have been so kind to me after I have bought things I couldn't return later. I called the kid back and told him to bring the car back and we would return the cash...this was very HARD for me and Robert didn't agree with me. I want that junk pile gone so very much but I felt lead by the spirit to give this kid a break! I hope he appreciates this...'cause I still have to look at that UGLY car..!

You're very nice. I don't think I wouldv'e done that. Hopefully you'll get a more mature person to buy it very soon.

I hope you can have a buyer soon. That's pretty crazy and I also hope that kid learned a bit by your generosity. Good job!

you're too nice! i'd probably want to do the same for the same reason.. stephen wouldn't budge a bit! Especially if you specifically said 'as is'.. that's a tough on though!! Good for you. i think because of your decision you'll be blessed :)
