Leavi runs at Seaside meet this last weekend!

The meet was very wet and muddy. Leavi was excited about the trip. She got to go overnight and had anticipated a "dance" on Friday evening. Leavi soon discovered that "other" dances are NOT AT ALL like church dances:) She was disgusted , to put it lightly, about how the teens were dancing with each other. I call it the "humping" dance...can't mince words here, sorry. The stake presidents wife went on the trip and said that Leavi was the only girl at the entire dance dressed modestly. I am grateful that she upholds her standards even when no one else there has high standards. She got asked to dance about 8 times and said "NO!" then went on to explain to a few of the boys that she had very high standards and she could tell by the way they were dancing that they did not. A boy came up behind her and touched her hips and she jumped up and squealed " Don't touch me!" I just love my daughter. I know that not all LDS youth maintain such high standards for themselves so I know I am blessed to have such a good girl! She also shared the scriptures she had been reading to the girls that were sleeping in her dorm. Janice commented" I didn't even bring my scriptures with me, Leavi is a good example. She does worry a bit about how willing she is to talk to everyone about her faith and that one day she might not have such a good experience with that but hey ...that is what sharing the gospel is all about, some good times, some bad. I just love Leavi and all the goodness that she has brought with her to this Earth! I know she will succeed and I know that her being here will affect many around her. Her testimony is strong and her mission here on Earth warrants it! It brings great joy to my heart to watch her life unfold.
