my beloved dishwasher...

I have had this lovely dishwasher for about 5 years total( 2 different ones during that time due to technical difficulties). The top drawer gave up on me about 3 months ago and Robert and I don't pay people to fix our junk so onto fix-it-yourself land went my beloved dishwasher...never to be seen again...UGH! I unplugged it and began the process of taking it apart to see what I could deduce the problem might be. I am no "Robert" when it comes to figuring these sort of things out ...but it became obvious that the pump was bad when I removed it and it had been completely corroded by sand and minerals due to our fabulous well water minus a sand filter( note to self: install a sand filter ASAP!). I had Robert order the parts and they totaled about $90..YAY! Hoped they would work. Put it back together and the drawer leaked something fierce..UGH! Took it apart and waited ....Robert shaved off some melted plastic and we lubed the "O" rings and put it back together( like 10 days late). NO LEAKS YAY! ...But now it won't drain...double UGH!!!!!!!!What do I look like the Maytag man? I had the crazy...ha haa..idea that something might be stuck in the drain pipe??? That took us another 3 weeks for us to have time to , yet again, take apart the drawer and check it out. Robert took the drain tube out and blew through it and some glob came out and VOILA! ALAS my beloved dishwasher is working and making me all happy and clean dished out! Weight out the options...pay a man Approximately $400 to fix it in about 10-14 days ( allowing time for part ordering and diagnosis) ...or wait 3 months and do it yourself and run only half your dishwasher( of which I am very grateful I have 2 parts to run...now that i think about it) until you can find the time and figure out the problemo.

I love being Bob Villa/ Maytag man / Martha Stewart/ June Cleaver (ha , bet that made you all laugh out loud) / Betty Crocker ...all rolled into one...it's a sweet life, well if you stop and fix the dishwasher!

I love that you're all those things, too. Great job and for counting the blessings too!
