GTD

I am grateful I am not in middle school. The drama and politics that go on there are beyond my comprehension. I am grateful that my children are strong and know who they are! I am grateful they choose to stand tall and not let the goings on around them weight them down. I am grateful they choose to not follow the " in" crowd... and especially that Leavi and Jaydn don't treat others terribly just so they can be a part of some ridiculous group! I am grateful they both work hard at their grades and value things like not swearing and not " dating" at their age! I am grateful that Robert and I have created a good home for them to come to and feel safe in! I am grateful for Leavi and Jaydn, for all they stand for, for what they have taught me. They are both such good kids. It is hard as a parent to stand by and watch or hear about ill treatment of your own children but in this world of misery and woe they need to learn at a young age to stand up and to rely on God. To be independent of their parents. To make their own choices. It is a struggle to watch and see if they will choose what is best for them...BUT when they do it is a victory! It is mind blowing and awe-inspiring to watch it happen...watch it unfold! I am constantly amazed at my children and their strength! I know it is due in part to the fact that Robert and I have taught them and are still teaching them the gospel of Jesus Christ. The fact that I stay home with my children. Dr. Laura is spot on when she talks about being a stay at home mom for your children. I know that is why my children feel secure and safe and can make wise decisions. I KNOW that is why Leavi stands up and walks away from her old friends who are being ridiculous to her! I Know that is why she can take the rejection and hurt, move on, and still treat others with dignity and respect and have a great attitude about it! With what our children face today and the choices that lie ahead we are doing them a great service to be there for them, to listen to them, to buoy them up, to guide them in making good decisions, to help them walk the path that God has shown and to let them do it in a spiritually self- relient way. Sometimes you ahve to let them fall and get hurt so they can learn.

Leavi and Jaydn always have their mom and dad and they always have prayer and a relationship that can't be broken with their Heavenly Father. They can weather anything in that!

Keep the pathways open for a listening ear and BE INTERESTED in what they have to say( that is hard for me sometimes with the 2 younger kids). This way they will come to you when they struggle with things, they will TALK to you!

I am truly grateful. Life is RICH! The gospel gives me a rock to stand on...a sure foundation. This generation is elect and has a great work to do in our World( read The Forth Turning to get a better insight on that and Prophecy and Modern Times...both EXCELLENT BOOKS!) I am excited to be here during this dispensation. I am excited that I am my children can help prepare the way of the Lord! I am excited to watch it all unfodl around me. I do not fear for God is with me and them.

I am glad that she talked to you. It is true that if you keep the lines of communication open it will be easier for them to talk to you.
