My heart broke "outloud" for my son...

Last night was coaches pick night for the 7th and 8th grade basketball teams. Jaydn did NOT get picked for the 7th grade team and when the last name was called I looked over at his face and felt my heart crack wide open. He was so sad and sullen. He pushed out his chest and put on a straight " I will get through this " face and we went home. A few dads of ones that got picked offered good words " Jaydn should have gotten picked I wonder why he didn't?" and such. There are at least 4 boys I felt very strongly are worse players than Jaydn (Not just mom talking) that were chosen but Life throws us curve balls sometimes. I think this will help Jaydn grow and he has a fabulous attitude about it (after talking to him before bed) Jay said " I will work really hard this year and next year I will amke the 8th grade team!" I love that boy of mine!
