GTD (Gratitude of the Day)

I am so grateful for a life and for what I have been given. The Hymn Because I Have Been Given Much comes to mind today. I learned , on Sunday, about a family(not in our church) whose house burned completely down on January 2nd (here in La Center). I went to the store and got them some things for cleaning and a broom and stuff. I feel like I did not do much but when you see the look on people's faces who don't know you and greet you at their door to receive something you have brought to ease their suffering you can't help but be grateful for your own life.

This family lost their mother 9 years ago ( she was murdered) and the father lost his dad and mom and sister all in the last couple of years. He has his 3 kids left and that is it for him. He had no one to go to. A member of our ward saw a post on craigslist about the fire and loss and he took action! I love Christian people they are amazing! So far people from our community and tons of church members have stepped in to help. The story this man has to share and the humility you can see and feel is truly special!

I am grateful that the Lord has blessed me with enough and to spare and that I have the opportunity to share with others in need. I love to serve and help the needy it feels so great!

Pay it Forward was one of my favorite movies and I feel like that everytime I think of recieving and this was my turn to pay it Forward!
