Shopping for Leavi.

I took Leavi shopping with my mom Saturday. We went out in search of clothing and came back with that and a great experience too! Leavi wanted to go to AEROPOSTALE just to see if she could get a pair of jeans or something. She RACKED UP! There was a great sale(everything 50% off!!!) so my mom, a little too generous sometimes) let her buy so many things I think Leavi was in shock! She is saving a few things for Christmas but for the most part she gets the stuff this Sunday for her birthday(so fashion show pictures to follow). I found this amazing thrift store in Milwaukie called The Dig that had tons of really cute stuff that Leavi came up with some totally great outfits with! Everything in the store is $5 or less!!!! I talked to Leavi about how "fashion" is NOT having some brand name scrawled across your chest...she still got a couple of t- shirts that said AERO.... but I told her that real fashion is about being original and not caring what others will think. She took it to heart and really came up with modest, fun , cute looks! I can't wait to take pictures of her in her "finds" and post them...she will post them on her blog after she gets them for her birthday (The 23rd). It was great to see how humble she was about shopping with her grandma. She didn't expect anything and she never asked for more...she was blown away that grandma let her get so much...grandma tried to take her to Nordstrom and get her to pick something out and Leavi just wasn't interested in the stuff because she could see that she could do so much more with that large sum of money it takes to get one thing at Nordies. I am impressed that she is so modest and that she is meek about receiving gifts form her grandma. I hope my mom had a fun time too...we went into a couple of shops I know she was thrilled about at first but in the end what a good sport grandma was! I was the one, in the end, who had a massive headache from the loud music(in the stores) and the driving??? We also got treated to breakfast at our FAVE little joint , GG's, and then lunch at Nordstrom cafe. I felt so spoiled...what a treat!
