GTD # 20 LEAVI!

#20. Today, and everyday, I am grateful for my daughter and her incredible spirit:) Leavi just never ceases to amaze me with her choices and they way she lives her life! She had the chance to go to Great Wolf Lodge ( A water park hotel) with a friend from school. I was surprised that she wanted to go but I told her she could if she paid for it herself. She left Friday after school and came home at about midnight Saturday. She came home with tears in her eyes because she felt like she had wasted her money and she didn't enjoy being with the friend or her family. The friend wasn't terrible just worldly and always chasing boys around, weird ones that wear eyeliner ( according to Leavi) She talked about stuff Leavi didn't like and the family was not very kind to one another. She recognized that her friend did NOT have the companionship of the Holy Ghost(her words not mine). The end result was that Leavi came home feeling like she has the best, safest, most wonderful home in the world! Score Danelle and Robert! She immediately began planning a family home evening lesson(which we will have tomorrow night due to Kole's soccer that got me home at 8pm tonight...too late) and she said and I quote " The whole time I was dreaming about hiking and camping with dad and the boys!" Given that she doesn't like to hike all that much that really says how much she did not like the experience. Like I said, it wasn't that the family treated her badly or that they were evil or anything it was that Leavi recognized how good she has it and how much she is loved, she recognized her need to have the Holy Spirit with her st all times...poor thing ...she was homesick too! I just love her so darn much! Things like this really make me feel like even though I am not the best mom at times , for the most part, the Lord has seen me through and my children are turning out so wonderfully! Amen for that blessing! I feel like I am on Cloud Nine today thanks to my precious Leavi.

Wow!! Leavi amazes us all. I can't really remember what life was like at 14, but I'm fairly positive that I wasn't as awesome of a person as Leavi is. I too am grateful for Leavi! :o)

That was so moving, I am in awe of what a precious daughter Leavi is, she is such a powerful witness of what the Spirit can do for a family on the right path. Way to go Family!
