We went mushroom hunting with Our friends the McClellans on Saturday after Kole had a soccer game, more on that adventure in another post. Nate ( The dad ) Know everything about edible mushrooms in this area. Robert has taken our boys to find them before and they have had great luck in finding the really good tasting ones. This time they found Lobster mushrooms and we roasted them over the fire. They really didn't taste very good but when Robert sauteed some in butter with salt they were much better. The adventure was fun and I found out that I have a Kindred spirit friend in Paula( Nate' wife) She, too, gets really cold easily and doesn't particularly love doing these outdoor, in the rain kind of adventures but she goes along so her kids will know she was there too...ha ha ha I thought I was weird or something for not really wanting to trek around all over the forest in the pouring rain and muck:) Glad to know there are others out there. All in all it was fun and our children really loved it! Jaydn had a scary moment when he fell off a bridge while still attached to his bike...I screamed and my heart rate went over the top but he landed just so and didn't break anything, we were shocked he didn't break his leg!
