After much hard work and perserverance Jaydn finally had his Scoutmaster conference and Board of Review to advance to the rank of Star Scout. For anyone who knows nothing about scouting this means he is only 2 ranks away from his Eagle scout! It takes 6 hours of community service, 6 merit badges (not easy to earn) , 4 months of active participation in your troop, scout spirit and hard WORK! Jaydn is the Patrol leader for his troop. I had let his scout shirt go un-attended for the entire time he has been in Boy Scouts so I went and got all the right patches and used (hello best product EVER) Badge Magic to apply them:) GENIUS!He looks like he really means scouting now! At the next Court of Honor he will get his rank advancement patch (he is wearing his First Class patch in this picture). It should take about 6 months for him to get his Life Scout Rank( he needs another 5 merit badges and 10 hours of community service and 6months active troop participation for that one. He already has almost all the merit badges and between the next merit badge fair and scout camp , he will get them ...and then some. Eagle takes an additional 10 more merit badges and a GINORMOUS project that we already have planned out( cross our fingers it gets accepted)!
I am not a "gung -hoe" scouting mom but with the help of others I have jumped on the band wagon...willingly anyway:) Kole did his first merit badge fair this year and he has 4 merit badges in the works and has earned his Aviation merit badge at a campout.

Are there merit badges for you the MOM of those people who are working for those merit badges? If not there really should be...Especially if you have as many sons as you do and have to do the work x's3...LOL
